Reading the stars

Everything about how the chart, the credits and the games behave, set down in one place.

Signing up

You need a free account to launch any star. It asks for four things only: a nickname, an email, a password and confirmation that you are an adult aged 18+ living in the UK. We never request a card and never send a verification email — there is simply nothing here to pay for. Deleting the account later takes a single button and erases everything linked to it.

About Play Credits

Your first visit brings 100,000 Play Credits. One balance, one level and one journal follow you from star to star. These credits are pretend money. No one can buy them, sell them, hand them over, cash them out or trade them for anything, and every amount you win stays inside the game with no value beyond it.

  • Fresh credits land free every four hours.
  • Daily goals reward you with credits.
  • Each new level brings a credit gift.
  • Should the balance dip under 2,000, it is topped up straight away at no cost.

Chart and journal

The sky chart plots all 35 worlds as stars grouped into 6 constellations. Pan, zoom and tap any star to open it. Its pin button sends the world to your star journal, which sits in your browser and acts purely as a bookmark: pinning unlocks nothing and earns nothing.

Brightness levels

We describe each world by brightness, calculated by running that world’s own code millions of times and counting how often a spin returns something:

WeatherSpins that payWhat it feels like
Soft glow40% or moreA gentle, even shimmer. Wins land often and tend to be small.
Bright28% to 40%Balanced light: a steady flow of returns with the odd brighter flare.
Supernovaunder 28%Long dark spells broken by dazzling bursts. Fewer spins return anything, but the peaks climb highest.

Brightness is a portrait of pacing. It cannot tell you what your next spin will do.

Mechanics

Locked wild respinsWhen a spin pays nothing but shows a wild, the wilds stay where they are and the other cells spin once more for free..Gilded Ascent, Lavender Lookout, Cloudsill Apothecary, Glitterbay Ballroom, Nebula Lounge
Falling-star tumblesWinning symbols vanish, the rest fall and new ones drop in. Each tumble in a row pays more.Ringgate Relay, Clearice Causeway, Runestone Lights

Reading a payline

All worlds share a five-by-three grid. Matching symbols score from the leftmost reel rightwards along fixed paylines. Your bet is divided equally between the lines, and each line pays only its single best combination. Scatters count wherever they land and pay a multiple of the total bet.

Where the randomness comes from

Each reel carries a set strip of symbols. On every spin your browser’s random number generator chooses a fresh, independent stopping point on each strip. Earlier spins have no influence, and the games never adjust to your balance or to how long you have been playing.

Numbers we checked ourselves

The table below is the result of simulating every world’s actual game code over millions of spins. It concerns Play Credits in these free games only and tells you nothing about any game played for money.
